The opening round of the 2026 FIM Long Track World Championship, scheduled to take place this evening – 13 July in Marmande, France, has been postponed due to restrictions imposed by the relevant authorities following the severe heat alert issued across the region.
In the interests of public safety, all outdoor activities and events have been suspended until further notice. Local emergency services are currently unable to provide the required event cover as all available resources have been deployed to respond to the critical situation and the major wildfires affecting the region.
The FIM fully understands and respects the decision taken by the authorities and has been working closely with the local organiser and the FFM to reschedule the event. The opening round will now take place on 26 September 2026. Further details will be communicated in due course.
The FIM would like to thank the local organiser, the FFM, the authorities and all stakeholders for their cooperation and understanding during this exceptional situation. The FIM also extends its thoughts and support to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires across the region.
